Unlocking Radiant Skin: The Impact of Your Diet on Skin Health

When we hear "diet", we often think about something not so fun, like losing weight. So, usually, "diet" relates to "weight-loss".

But according to dietitian Fabrizia Lisso, "diet" is't just about losing weight. It's a way of living that involves not only what we eat but also being active and having good habits.

To the question, 'Are there foods that help your skin'? Fabrizia said, 'Yes, there are, but they should go along with healthy habits because if you're doing well, your skin will too'.

First, think about B-group vitamins in foods like meat, cheese, and nuts. They team up to make your skin brighter by giving energy to your cells.
Simply put, if your cells work well, you'll look better, and this reflects on your whole body.

The second important idea is the three vitamins (A, C, and E) that help sensitive skin. Vitamins A and C are in fruits and veggies with colors like orange and red—like oranges, grapefruits, tomatoes, and carrots. Vitamin E is in fatty foods like olive oil, which is actually a friend, not an enemy.

These vitamins work best together, so it's better not to cook them too much. Also, choosing organic food is good because it keeps more vitamins in the food.

Lisso's third idea is that these vitamins help, but they're not a magic solution. For example, if you eat foods with ACE but smoke or drink a lot of caffeine or alcohol, which can hurt sensitive skin, it doesn't help.

To be beautiful, you need a healthy lifestyle—eat five servings of fruits and veggies, drink enough water, and be active.

About drinking enough water (the fourth idea), it's suggested to drink two liters a day. If that's hard, the doctor says you can add fruit and veggies to water or have herbal teas. Some teas, like ones with blueberries, red fruits, and goji berries, are good for sensitive skin because they make capillaries stronger.

The fifth idea is that if you can't get enough good stuff for your skin from food, you can use vitamin supplements.

Lastly, the sixth idea is to add flavor to your water. It's a small step to take care of yourself.
